I have a peculiar penchant for dressing like a '70s schoolgirl in detention—à la Sally Draper in the final seasons of "Mad Men." My summer wardrobe is full of clunky brogues and collared tanks, offset by fringy jackets and deeply distressed denim. Quirky prints, then, blend both aesthetics in a way that would make Draper herself proud — or so I should hope.
Enter this breezy, fit-and-flare-ish dress from Reformation that has the silhouette of a little lady, but with the bite of a sour grapefruit — literally. With its traditional shirt dress shape, it’s fully office-appropriate* (for us at Fashionista, anyway) and yet, emblazoned with this cheeky fruit print. I could see myself wearing it on a trip to the local farmers market or out on a Saturday night, too.
*Upon further examination, it appears the frock is semi-sheer, meaning one should probably partner it with a black slip of some kind. Ah, the price we must pay for fashion.
