With the exception of a few recent award show appearances, Nicole Kidman has been living in Nashville with her family and flying relatively under the radar. But despite her seeming avoidance of the spotlight, she's been the topic of frequent discussion — not just for her many new film roles, but also, unfortunately, for her physical appearance.
Her new Vogue cover hasn't quieted the chatter. Ever since Marc Jacobs posted the Patrick Demarchelier-shot photo on Instagram on Sunday — excited about the fact that she wore a dress from his fall 2015 collection — commenters have been unleashing fire. A sampling: "She doesn't even look human anymore," "She looks frozen- too much Botox probably," "She looks ...... Different."
Wonderfully, Jacobs hasn't stopped candidly responding to commenters since his nude photo snafu. Of Kidman's cover, he wrote: "All you haters... When were you last given a cover of Vogue? Damn people have a lot of negative energy..!!" A great point. Of course, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
Kidman is likely taking it all in stride, if she's paying attention to such criticism at all. The accompanying cover story is all about how real, down-to-earth and at peace she is these days. Read it here.
