Since it was first announced in October 2014 that Peter Copping would be replacing Oscar de la Renta as the creative lead of his namesake fashion house, he's been under a tremendous amount of pressure. Not only was Copping tasked with upholding de la Renta's beloved aesthetic, but had to do so immediately following the Dominican-American designer's death. With debut resort, bridal and ready-to-wear collections now under his belt, Copping has come to prove his appointment — in terms of creative direction and execution, at least.

On Facebook and Instagram Tuesday morning, the house revealed the last remaining hurdle of Copping's succession: a fall 2015 ad campaign, his first for the brand. With the assistance of all-American beauty (and longtime Oscar de la Renta muse) Carolyn Murphy, Copping ensures that his clothing, and nothing else, serves as the campaign's focal point. Lensed by David Sims, the series of clean, simplistic images are more of an exhibit than a full-blown fashion campaign. In one image against a rosy background, Murphy's lanky body plays host to a lacy cocktail shift; in another, she wears a satin-skirted dress while propped up against a teal wall. Even Murphy's tidy beauty look — loose hair and barely-there makeup — seems unassuming.

In all, Copping's first campaign effort for the label rings true with what his message has been all along, and that's continuing (and respecting) de la Renta's lasting legacy.
