Rachel McAdams is a busy lady these days: Not only is she the star of HBO's most talked-about (and also its most confusing) drama, "True Detective," she's also currently making the media rounds to promote her upcoming film, "Southpaw." Just last week, she stepped out in a black dress by burgeoning contemporary label Self-Portrait, and we don't think the actress has ever looked better — including during those special times many years ago when she had Ryan Gosling on her arm. (Never forget.)
For her appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" that aired on Friday, McAdams chose yet another dress by Self-Portrait — this time around, it was a black and blue high-necked midi from the label's fall 2015 collection. The sheer look is as cool as they come, with a wavy lace pattern that's broken up by delicately woven technical inserts that allow just the right amount of skin to peek out. For an elegant touch, there's a black band around the waist that cinches the silhouette, and although the dress is styled with black combat boots in the fall lookbook, McAdams instead opted for simple, pointy-toe pumps.
Despite the fact that the brand, designed by Central Saint Martins grad Han Chong, has only been around for a few seasons, it's already amassed an impressive number of celebrity fans, including Reece Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, Kristen Stewart and Gabrielle Union. But considering McAdams's clear fondness for Self-Portrait — and how beautifully she wears it — we're wondering if some sort of designer/muse relationship is beginning to bud. What up-and-coming label wouldn't want McAdams leading its fan club?
