I own exactly one black jumpsuit, and yet, I've managed to wear it to just about every appropriate occasion since I first acquired it this past December. With a deep-cut back and tuxedo-inspired front, it's pretty much the coolest — and potentially most flattering — thing in my closet. I now understand firsthand why Bianca Jagger wore jumpsuits constantly throughout the '70s. The right one can makes you feel as if you, too, could be a member of the Jagger brood.
Alas, I can't exactly be cavorting around on a Thursday morning in my favorite piece of backless formalwear. I have found a daytime alternative, though, and it involves an exceptionally heatwave-friendly wide-legged silhouette. Just imagine wearing this Talula number with a pair of Stan Smiths or even pointy-toe flats, minimal jewelry and, perhaps, a slick of saucy lipstick. And as the summer swells on, I'm growing progressively more bored of my go-to sundresses — none of which, for the record, are all that Jagger-friendly.
The good news just keeps on coming, too: It's currently on sale. Enjoy!
Talula "Ovington" jumpsuit, now $42.50, available at Aritzia.
