While browsing street style images from New York Fashion Week a few seasons ago, I was struck by this shot of model Natalia Vodianova in a sleeveless black turtleneck and pleated white culottes, her hair pinned up casually, her feet shod in white pointed-toe flats and a large red clutch folded under her arm. It's a shot that has stuck with me because it so perfectly telegraphs the idea of effortless chic — a kind of chic that looks pretty comfortable to wear, to boot.
While I have no interest in copying Vodianova's look head-to-toe — for starters, it wouldn't look so great on me — I think I can capture some of its essence with this navy sleeveless dress from The Row and a pair of these discounted white loafers from Pierre Hardy. Add the black Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and leopard-print sunnies already at home, and I'm ready for the office — and good ol' fashion week — come September.
Pierre Hardy loafers, now $239 (from $795), available at Shoescribe.
