As much as I love the promise of a good facial cloth mask, it's not quite clear that anything has happened to my skin after I use one — or that the cloth is any less wet than before. So when I tried Radical Skincare's "instant" mask, my expectations for instant were pretty low. (Full disclosure: I received this product for free from a friend who is a beauty editor.)
Out of the tube, the mask looks like a luxurious lotion. But just a few minutes after applying a thin layer to the face, it transforms into a light foam that you can feel gently popping with air on the skin. And then it changes a third time, when rinsed off, into a soapy lather. Maybe it's a placebo effect from the weird science of it all, but every time I use it my skin is more hydrated and bright than before. In this case, instant really means, well, instant. Five minutes well spent.
