The end of music festival season is drawing near, meaning we only have a few more weeks of fringe-heavy street style photos and performers' thoughtfully mapped out tour wardrobes to enjoy before retiring our cut-offs until Coachella kicks off the madness again next spring. One of the last big-name events of the summer, FYF Fest, took place in Los Angeles over the weekend, and though the biggest news from the show was that Frank Ocean sadly dropped out of the lineup at the very last minute, there was still plenty for music fans to get excited about, including sets from Kanye West (Ocean's stand-in), Morrissey, FKA twigs, D'Angelo and one of the fashion crowd's favorite female artists, Solange.

Never one to shy away from an avant-garde ensemble, the 29-year-old singer took the stage in a bright red dress by Gareth Pugh paired with matching shoes by Missoni. The scarlet outfit was attention-grabbing enough on its own, but Solange took it to a dramatic new level by coordinating her eye makeup to the look as well. We've seen the red eye shadow thing on the runways at Max Mara, Altuzarra and Givenchy over the years, but in real-life scenarios, it's a much rarer sight — and much more difficult to pull off. However, thanks to the free-spirited festival atmosphere, Solange made it work... and has us contemplating a similar statement beauty look for fall.
