Something very dangerous for my bank account just happened: Aritzia opened a new New York location just two blocks north of my apartment building. While I've successfully avoided shopping during Fashion Month (who has the time?), the autumn chill has started to creep in, meaning that I need to stock up on the chunky sweaters that I'll be wearing religiously for the next six months. At least I won't have to travel far — I'm an avid fan of the Canadian retailer's knits, specifically this turtleneck version that comes in a wide array of fall-appropriate hues. The sweater is slightly cropped in the front (to show off some high-waisted paints or a chic belt) and longer in the back for an interesting asymmetrical shape. I'll pair it with a denim skirt and tights while the air is still crisp, and just layer the hell out of it once the climate drops to freezing temperatures around the holidays. Now the only question is: Which color do I buy first?
Wilfred Free "Lin" sweater, $165, available at Aritzia.
