Harnesses and bondage have recently had their day as micro-trends, but London has not entirely forgotten them. Only this time the trend moves away from the suggestive and more towards something decorous.
Day 2 of London Fashion Week gave us three collections — Simone Rocha, 1205 and J. W. Anderson — which featured a criss-cross embellishment on the chest. Rocha, for instance, was inspired by Japanese bondage photography but pairing with frilly pink dresses lessened the bite.
