In what is yet another impressive milestone for the Kardashian/Jenner clan, Kylie Jenner's "Kylie Jenner Official App" has reached number one on iTunes's free apps chart, surpassing Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Snapchat. Sisters Khloe, Kim and Kendall, who also launched their own apps on Monday, clocked in at 13, 35 and 44 respectively.
The individualized mobile apps were created with each sister's personalities in mind, according to WWD. At the Apple store in Soho, the five sisters told fans and reporters what to expect content-wise. Not surprisingly, Kim's will focus primarily on fashion and beauty; Khloe's on health and relationships; Kendall's on modeling; Kylie's on beauty; and Kourtney's on motherhood (though hers will not be released until later). Common features among all apps include a Q & A section, e-commerce and live-streaming capabilities, as well as a monthly subscription fee of $2.99 — although first-time users are allowed a seven-day free trial.
In some ways, it is surprising that Kylie managed to beat older sister Kim for the number-one spot. But then again, Jen Garcia, who's spearheading the content for the Kardashian/Jenner sisters, stated that Kylie has "the most distinctive personality" out of the five. Well, whatever you may think of the famous family, you really have to give it to them for finding yet another way to monetize their fame — and be successful at it.
