Proenza Schouler presented its spring 2016 collection in New York less than a month ago, yet it's already hitting the red carpet — on one of our favorite actresses, no less. Cate Blanchett, who's busy promoting her new film "Truth," chose a white, open-knit gown from the label's latest offering, which focused on undone silhouettes (many looks had layers that peeled away from the body), sex appeal through cutouts and peek-a-boo materials, and a true appreciation of craftsmanship. Many of the dresses shown by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez could easily be considered works of art, including this high-necked, long-sleeved gown. Cinched at the waist with a grosgrain ribbon and daintily exposing the shoulders, it looked like a dream on Blanchett. With simple, sparkling earrings, a fresh-faced beauty look and criss-crossed Christian Louboutin pumps, the actress really let this piece stand on its own. And boy, was that the right move.
