There were supermodels galore, a handful of Kardashians and a performance by Tyga, for starters.

Fashion people are famous for throwing themselves wild birthday parties in fancy locales (see: Riccardo Tisci's 40th in Ibiza, Mario Testino's Havana nights-themed 60th in London and Natalie Massenet's bash for her 50th in Positano, Italy over the summer). After a whirlwind few weeks that included the presentation of Balmain's spring 2016 collection in Paris as well as the launch party for the French label's upcoming collaboration with H&M, designer Olivier Rousteing decided to get in on the action with a rager of his own.

To celebrate his 30th birthday, Rousteing invited celebrity pals, industry VIPs and, of course, all of the Kardashians to a private residence in Laurel Canyon to let loose for a night of dancing, drinking and posing for Instagram photos. While this party was technically a belated one — the man has been busy, after all — that didn't stop Rousteing's "Balmain Army" from showing up in full force, and for the most part, in full looks from the brand's most recent collections. Guests enjoyed a musical performance by Tyga (also known as Kylie Jenner's boyfriend), a black and gold Balmain-inspired birthday cake and some breathtaking views of the Hollywood Hills throughout the evening. Not that we'd expect anything less from one of the industry's flashiest (and most celebrity-smitten) creative directors.

Read on for scenes from Rousteing's 30th birthday celebration in Los Angeles on Friday night, and try your best to keep the FOMO at bay.
