In the past few months, I've been getting really into the following outfit formula: plain ol' skinny jeans worn with an admittedly plain T-shirt or sweater, which I then jazz up with an exciting bag or pair of shoes. Last month, I was fixated on a pair of high-pigment gold ankle boots that, for fear or looking like a disco ball, demand that the accompanying outfit be kept as simple as possible. This week, while exploring the depths of Net-a-Porter, I discovered my next Token Crazy Accessory, and it involves something I might enjoy even more than glitter — animated Disney characters!
I've fallen deeply in love with Olympia Le-Tan's book-inspired clutches, particularly this sky blue "Lady and the Tramp" specimen. While my fondness for the 1955 Disney classic knows no bounds, it's the bag's intimate nostalgia that really won me over. It's as if my grandma (or not necessarily my grandma, but a grandma) took to a squeaky rocking chair to hand-embroider this clutch for her Disney-obsessed granddaughter. Plus, how could you resist a bag that is literally branded with the phrase, "Loaded With Love, Music and Laughter!"?
One problem: it's $1,880. Are you there, Santa?
Olympia Le-Tan 'Lady and the Tramp' embroidered cotton-canvas clutch, $1,880, available at Net-a-Porter.
