Hollywood heavyweights Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey have been the faces of Dolce & Gabbana's "The One" fragrance for their respective genders for several years now — Johansson since 2009 and McConaughey since 2008 — but the brand has only brought them together for a few special campaigns. The actors first joined forces to star in a short film directed by Martin Scorsese in 2013, in which they played the glamorous versions of themselves (charming, famous actors) on an impromptu date in New York City. In 2014, fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh shot them together again on Zuma Beach in California.
Now, Dolce & Gabbana is reuniting the duo around the family table in Italy, in keeping with the brand's recent runway and campaign focus on large, multigenerational (traditional) families. In the somewhat surreal campaign photographed by Brigitte Lacombe, Johansson and McConaughey are dressed in all black and appear with models playing other Italian family members including a nonna, of course, and some moody looking bambini. (The children below are not McConaughey's children, and yes, we thought that too.)
Check out a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot below in which Johansson and McConaughey clown around with beautiful children and provide some stilted soundbites about the experience, as well as two behind-the-scenes images. We'll update with more images from the campaign as they are released.
