On the heels of posting a #twinsies Instagram shot with Justin Bieber on Monday and a correctly spelled (albeit somewhat basic) Starbucks order, Derek Zoolander has just released the first poster from the upcoming and much anticipated "Zoolander 2" movie, debuting exclusively here. (Well, Paramount and Ben Stiller released it, but it's more fun to pretend that Derek, Hansel, et al. are real people, especially after the two closed the fall 2016 Valentino runway show at Paris Fashion Week.)
So what type of plot hints can we parse from this Chanel No. 5-inspired art and minimal, catchy text? Not much, but the Blue Steel is on point. Derek's mani is in check. His coif and guyliner are unsurprisingly immaculate. His skin is flawless and possibly contoured. Our titular star appears solo — so does this mean more plays on iconic fragrance ads for future character promo posters? For instance, Hansel and his undone hair in a beachy, Eternity-esque pose, or maybe Mugatu throwing open a balcony door and shouting "EGOISTE?" (Although, Derelicte does sort of deserve its own musky signature scent.)
Well, we'll have plenty of time to overanalyze and speculate on the top secret plot from now until February 12, 2016 when "Zoolander 2" hits theaters. Just one request: more moments like this, please.
