I used to have a black rabbit fur beanie that, like so many of my winter accessories over the years, got left at a bar. Fortunately, I had a good few winters of wearing it before I lost it, but I still miss it. It was warm, easy to wear, went with just about all of my clothes and looked cooler (and a little more glam) than your average wool or cashmere beanie.
So, I've been looking for a new one, and I think I've found it. I'm going with a more neutral light mink shade in a super simple silhouette (thank you, Steven Alan) in a faux fur to hopefully avoid any judgement from people — er, I mean, to save animals. Over $100 may feel like a lot to pay for acrylic and polyester, but I think I'll wear it more than enough to make it worth it. If I don't lose it, that is.
Steven Alan faux fur beanie, $122 (from $175), available at Steven Alan.
