Highly Regarded Emerging Designer Brand Seeks Development / Production Manager (NYC)
Highly regarded emerging designer brand is looking to add a motivated, organized, full-time professional to manage in all aspects of development and production management.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for managing all product developments and production
- Calculating costs and yields for all styles
- Creating and updating Seasonal Linesheets, Salesman Sample Breakdowns, and Product Books for internal use and sales
- Manage, maintain, and monitor development and production T&A Calendar
- Communicating daily with domestic and overseas factories to ensure timely deliveries and quality product
- Communicating and following up with mills and suppliers in a timely manner to ensure workable ex-mill dates for all vendors
- Negotiating prices with factories and creating costing templates to confirm final costs for market to meet margin goals on a seasonal basis
- Follow-up bulk raw material delivery dates, negotiate raw material prices, and approve all bulk color standards, trims, fabrics, and knit-downs
- Collaborate with fabric buyer to place all bulk purchase orders in a timely manner to ensure a workable ex-mil date for all factories
- Help with sourcing new factories, mills and trim suppliers
- Creating and updating spreadsheets that track all essential information for all styles
- Coordinate and solve production issues with suppliers, manufacturers, sales, shipping, and merchandising in regards to delays, delivery dates, allocation, extensions, liability, overages and shortages
- Quality control of all merchandise
- Assist in preparing all samples for line review, market, and seasonal shows

- Extremely organized, self-motivated and able to multi-task daily
- A bachelors degree from a United States apparel design program
- An understanding of garment construction, specs, and tech packs
- A minimum of 3 years designer level apparel production
- Both domestic and overseas production experience
- Contacts or the ability to source local and overseas apparel factories and suppliers
- Experience with costing
- Experience with quality control
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with better contemporary or designer level brands
- A strong-willed work ethic and positive energy
