I'll admit, until very recently my bedtime wardrobe consisted of only three items, in multiples: Worn-out T-shirts from college, Soffe shorts from my dance team days and hooded sweatshirts for when winter rolled around. While these pieces are undoubtedly cozy, they're not very pretty, so I made the decision to step up my sleepwear game.
In an attempt to be hilarious (apologies to my husband), I picked up a couple of onesies and some soft, cutesy separates from Victoria's Secret and the like. But I didn't really appreciate the magic that is a cozy and attractive pajama set until I came across this two-piece silk number from Madewell. Both the top and bottom fit very much like my regular daywear, so I don't feel like a slob when I'm lounging around my apartment — which is pretty much the only thing I plan on doing over the holidays. Plus, it's oddly empowering to wake up wearing a matching "outfit." It gives me a little confidence boost the first time I walk by a mirror.
There is one slight downside to this particular set, which is that it's dry-clean only. But I'm willing to splurge a little. 'Tis the season, after all.
Silk bedtime shirt in gingham check, now $48.37, and shorts, $27.37, available at Madewell.
