Red Carpet Fashion Awards, one of Fashionista's beloved sources for red carpet fashion credits, will go offline on Jan. 14. In her last post for the website, Founder and Editor Catherine Kallon wrote, "When people assumed that this site was run by a team of people, I saw it as a compliment, but after time I realised that it was perhaps an indication that I was doing way too much." Natalie Massenet is officially a dame
Natalie Massenet has been named a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions in fashion and retail. Massenet, who is currently the chairman of the British Fashion Council, left Net-a-Porter in September before the company's merger with Yoox Group. {WWD}

The new big trend in fashion retail is food
From Urban Outfitters to Shinola, retailers have been increasingly incorporating food and dining into their retail concepts to draw in shoppers. Luxury brands like Gucci and Vivienne Westwood have followed suit. According to Sarah Quinlan, senior vice president and group head of market insights for MasterCard Advisors, this new strategy has to do in part with the fact that customers "want to create a memory that's more permanent and meaningful to them than buying a blouse or buying another pair of boots." {WWD}
