I'm not a big "party animal," per se, so it confuses me when I start to get butterflies in my belly* surrounding the hustle and bustle of New Year's Eve. Right around this time, I start to quietly lose my mind about what to wear. Last year, I wore a black, backless, tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit that immediately became my favorite piece of clothing I own; the two previous years, I went with a glittery, body-hugging mini dress I still believe might be the Most Perfect New Year's Dress Ever. While I've been considering re-wearing last year's jumpsuit, I'm also always a proponent of buying yourself a new party dress if it makes you feel all special and sparkly. I'm that person.

Enter Reformation's Skyler dress, which I've been mulling over for a few weeks now. With a deep neckline and jazzy collar, it reminds me off all those blazer-without-a-shirt looks that started cropping up a year or so ago — but only better and in swingy lil' dress form. Plus, it has the metallic sheen that, as we all know, is an added bonus for anything worn during the month of December. The more I look at it, the more I like it, and the more I like it, the more convinced I am that I'm going to pull the trigger.

Do you have strong thoughts as to whether or not I should purchase this party dress? Let me know in the comments below — but be nice about it, please. Santa's still watching.
