Love magazine Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand is consistently ahead of the curve when it comes to nurturing up-and-coming talent in the industry, and this is especially true regarding the current generation of digitally savvy, young models. Grand was among the first to spotlight the Delevingnes, the Jenners, the Hadids and the Smiths.
Another of the Internet's favorite ladies in 2015 was Lily-Rose Depp, the 16-year-old model (and genetically blessed daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis), who amassed a staggering number of Instagram followers — she's up to 1.2 million at the moment — and stole the spotlight at the Chanel Paris-Salzburg show in New York when she walked the red carpet with her mother. Since then, she's landed a Chanel eyewear campaign and appeared in the pages of Vogue Paris and Oyster, but a big-name cover has eluded her until now.
Grand and co. chose Depp for the upcoming spring 2016 issue of Love, shot by Willy Vanderperre. The cover image has a wacky "Sweet 16" vibe to it, with acid-bright makeup, retro (if not a little tacky) styling and cover lines that appear to be doodled with colored pencils. Talk about a teen dream. While this might be Depp's first big cover of the year, we really doubt it's going to be her last.
