You've seen her in a Chanel eyewear campaign, you've seen her on the cover of Love magazine, and soon, you'll be able to watch Lily-Rose Depp hit the big screen. The 16-year-old Instagram sensation stars in the new coming-of-age flick "Yoga Hosers" — written and directed by Kevin Smith of "Clerks" and "Mallrats" fame — which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday. To celebrate the occasion, Smith — whose 16-year-old daughter Harley Quinn Smith plays Depp's on-screen BFF — released the first clip from the much-hyped movie, introducing us to the two angsty female lead characters (both named Colleen) who work a crappy after-school job at a Canadian convenience store.
The Colleens come across as your typical high school sophomores: they're obsessed with their iPhones, smart-mouthed, easily annoyed and powerless before cute senior boys. When the girls are invited to a party by a couple of hunky upperclassmen who stop by the store while they're on the clock, they think their weekend is about to take an epic turn. But before they can make an appearance at the social event of the year, they'll have to fight off some ancient evil forces that had long laid dormant underneath the Canadian soil. Spooky!
While we only get a small taste of Depp's acting chops in the clip, we have a feeling that she'll live up to the too-cool Internet persona she's built for herself — especially if her side-eye is any indication. Plus, she manages to make that unfortunate work uniform look stylish, a fact that deserves some recognition on its own.
