It was only a matter of time until the gowns from Marc Jacobs's spring 2016 collection would find their way to the red carpet. Sienna Miller wore one straight off the runway a month after New York Fashion Week; Cate Blanchett debuted a design that wasn't finished in time for the show; and both Alicia Vikander and Brie Larson were spotted in Marc Jacobs in Vogue and W, respectively. Tessa Thompson is the latest actress to join the group: Dressed by her stylist duo Wayman and Micah, she wore a plaid-print, open-back sequin gown by the New York designer on Tuesday night at the London premiere of "Creed."
Thompson wore her hair in loose, second-day waves to the side, which helped to highlight the gown's neckline. Subtle, delicate jewelry, like a pair of small hoops, did the trick to complete the look.
"We are always looking for designers who are relatable to the 'unique and coolness' of Tessa," said Wayman and Micah to Fashionista. "Marc Jacobs was the perfect choice with its exquisite details of sequins, an asymmetrical silhouette cut that complemented the shape and the perfect amount of subtle sexiness for a young starlet."
