After less than two years as editor-in-chief of Yahoo Beauty, makeup artist and beauty entrepreneur Bobbi Brown has exited the site. A representative for Yahoo confirmed her departure, but did not state whether she was cut as part of a series of layoffs at the company this week.

"As we simplify our business at Yahoo, our beauty coverage is going in a new direction," said Martha Nelson, Yahoo's global editor-in-chief, in a statement. "We have appreciated Bobbi Brown's expertise, her talent, and the unique content she has brought to Yahoo's audience."

Yahoo Beauty and Yahoo Style will remain, however, as dedicated verticals on the site, while seven others including Yahoo Food, Yahoo Health and Yahoo Parenting are being "phas[ed] out" and their teams let go. "As a result of these changes some jobs have been eliminated and those employees will be notified today," said a spokesperson for Yahoo on Wednesday. "We thank those employees for their outstanding service to Yahoo and will treat these employees with the respect and fairness they deserve."

Yahoo Style's Editor-in-Chief Joe Zee remains in his role, and it has yet to be seen if the fashion vertical will experience cuts in the coming days as well.

Update 2/18: Fashionista has heard that Joanna Douglass, senior beauty editor at Yahoo Beauty, along with several other Beauty staffers, have left as well. At Yahoo Style, we hear Editor Sarah Cristobal has left.
