Update: Family publicist Kanye West took a break from Yeezy Season 3 prep to tweet Tuesday evening that "there will never be a Kylie Puma anything. That's on my family! 1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!" So it sounds like either the report was never true or West shut down the partnership. This is awkward for everyone involved, not least of which Puma.
It's been a busy week for Kylie Jenner — her latest lip kits sold out in less than two hours on Friday and on Monday, she and Kendall Jenner kicked off New York Fashion Week with a party to celebrate the launch of their new joint clothing line.
To top it all off, on Monday evening Us Weekly reported that Jenner has also signed on for her biggest marketing campaign yet: a 7-figure deal to be the new face of Puma. Jenner is not unfamiliar with the process of lending her face to other brands. In addition to shilling natural butt and breast enhancement products on Instagram, she's served as a brand ambassador for beauty line Nip + Fab and launched a hair extension line with Bellami Hair. With her sister Kendall, she's appeared in a Balmain campaign and collaborated to different degrees with Topshop, Pacsun, O.P.I. and Steve Madden. Jenner is also no stranger to Puma — she's been photographed by paparazzi, and herself, wearing the athletic brand and its sneakers.
A representative for Puma did not immediately respond to requests for confirmation.
The magazine says the partnership won't be on par with Rihanna's current role as creative director: the pop star inked that deal in December and is slated to present the first-ever Puma by Rihanna fashion show on Friday night. And while Rihanna has generally avoided public interaction with the Kardashian/Jenner industrial complex, we bet the youngest member of the family will be front and center on Friday if the campaign reports are true.
