Last year, we launched a meetup series in New York, inviting professionals in the fashion community to chat about their careers and share their best advice for industry hopefuls. We spoke with Joe Zee about breaking into the fashion world; Emily Weiss on founding Into the Gloss and Glossier; Chris Benz about his new creative director role at Bill Blass and costume designer Jenn Rogien on dressing up the casts of "Girls" and "Orange is the New Black."
We're excited to kick off our next round of meetups for 2016, starting with Michelle Lee, the newly appointed editor-in-chief of Allure. Come hear Lee speak about how she got started in media, working on branded and editorial content, her time as editor-in-chief at Nylon, her vision for Allure and the future of beauty magazines. Those in attendance can participate in a 30- to 45-minute Q&A with Lee, as well as have the chance to network with Fashionista editors and fellow event-goers. There will be food (always a good thing), there will be drinks (if you're over 21) and it's a fun and inspiring event for all.
The talk will take place at Space 530 in Manhattan on Tuesday, Mar. 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 (to cover the cost of catering), and can be purchased here. There are only 50 seats available, so act fast! Hope to see you there.
