Silk bomber jackets became somewhat ubiquitous during the men's shows in Paris last season and their popularity hasn't slowed down since — thanks, in no small part, to Gucci and Louis Vuitton, which have both churned out version after version of the sleek, retro silhouette. And as is the case with so many trends, the style has crept over into the women's realm, too, leaving me lusting after one with the force of a thousand satin suns.
Thankfully, Reformation had my back. Its new Baby Jacket, pictured above and below, is just the sassy item I'd like to wear all spring long. In a rich, glossy aubergine color with "Not Your Baby" stitched on its back, the jacket is certainly out-there, but intentionally so. It's the outerwear equivalent of "Go Big or Go Home," while also serving as a gentle reminder that, contrary to many beliefs, I am most certainly not your baby.
And just for the record I would also buy a jacket that proclaimed: "Don't toot your horn, honey. You're not that good." Maybe next season.
Reformation Baby Jacket (in aubergine), $228, available at Reformation.
