Though it has yet to prove its worth as a cinematic effort, "Zoolander 2" is at the very least commendable for its creative, determined marketing push, much of which has involved the cast staging real-world stunts in character. It's been so intense, in fact, that we were a little taken aback by the sight of Will Ferrell at a press event not in his fluffy white Mugatu wig, but dressed instead as a handsome Seattle dad getting his corporate headshot taken. Suddenly, a sweater over a collared shirt feels as fresh as the foliage in the Roman garden where this photo call took place.
Unlike the "Zoolander 2" publicity team, Ferrell isn't pulling any fancy tricks here, sticking to a color palette of charcoal on black on black on white. The fit speaks for itself. You'd be tempted to post this photo to Facebook with a caption like "Dad's still got it! #silverfox," but, for novelty and fave's sake, would probably just decide to add one of those great ones of him in college with long hair and short shorts that you took a picture of last time you were at home.
To be fair, Farrell wasn't the only one suited up in dark neutral tones on Saturday. Behold: The world's hippest private equity firm.
