Earlier this month, news broke that model Behati Prinsloo is expecting her first child with rocker husband Adam Levine. As if that isn't sweet enough, it turns out she's not the only Victoria's Secret Angel expanding her family in 2016: Over the weekend, Candice Swanepoel, who's engaged to longtime beau Hermann Nicoli, confirmed on Instagram that she is pregnant — meaning the two BFFs will have a lot to talk about in the coming months.
Us Weekly reported that Prinsloo is "three to four months along," indicating her due date will come in August or September, while E! reports that Swanepoel is 12 weeks in, meaning her due date should fall around October. Coincidence? We think not.
Victoria's Secret Angels have a history of getting pregnant in waves. In 2010 alone, models Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karolina Kurkova, and Claudia Schiffer all announced they were with child. And in 2011, Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Aldridge both walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in early stages of pregnancy.
These genetically blessed women also have a track record of bouncing back fast after giving birth in order to walk at the lingerie brand's tentpole yearly event — the following year, Ambrosio and Aldridge were catwalk-ready by November as was superhuman Lima, who walked only eight weeks after giving birth. In 2009, Klum famously appeared in the fashion show lineup only five weeks after giving birth. It's almost a badge of Angel honor at this point.
With that kind of precedent, we wouldn't be surprised if Prinsloo and Swanepoel planned their pregnancies to coincide with the summer in order to give themselves (some) time to prep for the 2016 runway show, which traditionally tapes in November. And with this kind of fertile energy in the air, we also wouldn't be surprised if another contract girl makes a similarly joyful announcement soon. We've said it before and we'll say it again: there must be something in those Angel wings.
