Chanel runway shows are known just as much (perhaps even more) for their elaborate sets as they are for the actual clothes. For most consumers, however, these sets can only be experienced via industry insiders' social media posts, though that's about to change thanks to the French house's most recent marketing move: a Chanel Airlines-themed pop-up shop with multi-brand Singaporean retailer Pedder on Scotts.
The pop-up, which runs through April 4, will feature details from the over-the-top spring 2016 show, like conveyor belts displaying goods, yellow safety lines, mannequins dressed as stewards and stewardesses, bags placed inside plastic security bins and windows and façades decorated with double C's. The focus will be on Chanel's spring/summer 2016 accessories, including the French label's new luggage collection (The CoCo Case) and its wedge sandals. A limited selection of watches and beauty products will also be available. This marks the first time that Chanel has collaborated with a store in Singapore.
