Despite rounding up the top trends and accessories of the season, I don't remember many of the runway looks from fashion month. But there is one exception that I remember quite vividly: a waist-tied pinstripe top from Suno's fall 2016 collection. It's definitely not a radical silhouette and it doesn't stand out in the same way as the capes at Marc Jacobs or the ridiculous heart-shaped coat (dress?) at Saint Laurent. But what I like about it, and what stuck with me, is how super wearable it is without being totally and utterly boring. So I've been searching for something similar online.
Enter Cos's long-sleeved cotton linen top with waist-tie. It's roomy and simple and, best of all, it has that intriguing wide band around the waist. I might even like it more than Suno's style, actually, because you can also tie it in the back. But given that the shirt itself is so simple, I'd recommend keeping that little bit of drama up front.
Cotton-linen top with tie, $99, available at Cos.
