Another day, another creative director departure.

Salvatore Ferragamo announced on Thursday that Massimiliano Giornetti has exited the brand as creative director. Giornetti worked for the Italian fashion house for 16 years; he joined the men's apparel design team in 2000 and accepted the top role overseeing mens- and womenswear in 2011.

"We will take this opportunity to revisit our creative approach," said Group CEO Michele Norsa in a statement. "Over time, the company has nurtured and sponsored many young designers and is fortunate to be able to count on an excellent in-house team."

That being said, the in-house design team at Ferragamo will continue with its duties and projects until a replacement is found. Giornetti's future plans have not been disclosed but we will update this space as we learn more.
