Kanye West Takes to Twitter to Rant About How 'Fake' the Fashion World Is

Looks like his "Real Friends" in the industry are few and far between.

Fashion Month came to an official close in Paris today, so it's only fitting that Kanye West helped to shut down the fall 2016 season with one of his famous Twitter rants — many of which took place over the past four weeks of shows. While he's touched upon a number of relevant fashion topics in his tirades — from his desire to be the creative director of Hermès to his propositioning of Nicolas Ghesquière to be his best friend — West saved the best (and most honest) for last, apparently.

On Wednesday night, the rapper-turned-designer went on a no-holds-barred diatribe about how fake the industry is, and presented his followers with a short list of colleagues that he actually respects. Unsurprisingly, West is on board with Balmain's Olivier Rousteing, who "designed his [fall 2016] collection around [Kim Kardashian]" and who collaborated on custom outfits for Yeezy Season 3. Vetements and Balenciaga designer Demna Gvasalia also has achieved "real friend" status, not only for helping West design Yeezy Season 1, but also for using "The Life of Pablo" merch in his show in Paris. Other folks West name-checks as being genuine are Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, Off-White's Virgil Abloh, Saint Laurent's Hedi Slimane and the iconic Carine Roitfeld, whom he credits for his wife's rapid rise to fame in the fashion world.

Read on for the best of West's unfiltered thoughts about the industry's power players, and just so you're aware, he isn't here for your criticism of his latest collection, and he "believe[s] in [his] ripped homeless sweaters!!!"
