Karlie Kloss scaled back her runway appearances during the fall 2016 season, but the model, tech enthusiast and entrepreneur was hardly absent from the fashion month circuit. In fact, the 23-year-old added an esteemed new position to her resume: she joined a 41-person panel of international fashion experts tasked with selecting the finalists for the 2016 LVMH Prize. During Paris Fashion Week, Kloss mingled with the 23 designers who made the short list — Brandon Maxwell, Moto Guo, Vejas Kruszewski and Matthew Williams of Alyx, to name a few — and captured the experience on video for her YouTube channel, Klossy. Not only did she try on the pieces they had on display, but she also helped her audience (currently over 425,000 subscribers) get to know the designers better by asking about their backgrounds, inspirations and what sets them apart in the crowded fashion space.

A proven video wiz, Kloss's documentation of her LVMH Prize duties serves as a great explainer for her fans who might not know what goes into one of the industry's most prestigious competitions — not to mention an impressive platform for the young designers she features. Get schooled on the labels that made the short list in the video above, and be sure to check back on Jun. 16 when the prize is presented at the Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris.
