It didn't take long for the New York-based Fashionista team to realize that in Paris, roughly 3,600 miles away, the contingent of Olivier Rousteing's #BalmainArmy came down the catwalk looking very little like their usual selves. At Balmain's fall presentation on Thursday, Rousteing put a number of his models in wigs. It was seemingly as an extension of the French fashion house's hair-care line (which, for the record, offers both extensions and styling tools).
While last season's runway show featured tight, slicked back ponytails, today's beauty look was anything but. Besties Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid swapped hair colors, with Hadid trading her tumbling, surfer-ready blonde waves for a rich, caramel brown; Jenner, on the other hand, went platinum.
Blonde babe Devon Windsor, who serves as the face of Balmain Hair Couture, went darker, too, in a shade slightly deeper than Hadid's...
...as did fellow light-haired crusader, Lindsey Wixson.
But no one's transformation was as dramatic as Lily Donaldson, who too swapped her characteristically ashy shade for a sleek, stark black.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley did the same...
...while Alessandra Ambrosio went for Hadid's more traditional sandy hue.
We'll be delivering our full review of Balmain's fall 2016 collection shortly, but these dramatic transformations should certainly tide you over in the meantime. That Rousteing always keeps it interesting, doesn't he?
