Although the weather hasn't exactly warmed up yet, I'm already in full shopping mode for my spring wardrobe. For this season, I'm taking a tip from Melissa Rubini at InStyle and conquering my to-purchase list by category. First up? Shoes.
I realized I mostly wore sneakers through spring and summer. So the sandals that I spotted at & Other Stories will have to go on the back burner for now because 1) I wouldn't even wear them until at least a couple of months from now and 2) It was kind of a relief not having to worry about maintaining a decent pedicure all the time.
Instead, I have my eye on these Topshop mid heels as a nice, ladylike update to my regular rotation of trainers. With a sturdy and low block heel, they're also comfortable for walking around the city. (I've tried them on at least twice on separate occasions at the Topshop flagship in SoHo.) Plus, the leopard print will punch up my otherwise drab outfits of black, white, navy and more black. And did I mention that they're velvet, too? The soft material was a favorite at New York Fashion Week (and Brie Larson's Oscars after-party look), which means they will easily transition through into next winter and fall as well. Now, excuse me while I pull up the link below on my browser.
Topshop Joni Velvet Mid Shoes, $110, available at Topshop.com.
