Allison Williams and Katy Perry seem like they have vastly different types of personalities — on the public stage, one is a type-A, New York City actress and the other an uninhibited California girl turned pop star. But their friendship is nothing new, and on Wednesday night the friends made for an unlikely sartorial pair on the red carpet at The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy's Launch Gala.
Williams, a Giambattista Valli loyalist, wore one of the designer's prettiest, fluffiest party frocks. Featuring a full, blue and white floral skirt paired with a black and white textured top, the bedazzled look was fit for a modern princess. Stylist Cristina Ehrlich paired it with Paul Andrew pumps and a sleek chignon. Meanwhile, Perry occupied the other end of the eveningwear spectrum in a form fitting black leather column dress with sheer lace panelling on the sides. She accented it with a lot of hardware, including a metallic belt, hair accessory and chandelier earrings. Topped off with a smokey eye and ultra-high bun, the look was sexy and very Katy.
The two were clearly excited to see each other at the A-list event, which also happened to take place on Williams's 28th birthday. (Perry brought celebratory streamers.) It seems like only yesterday that Williams tagged along with Perry at the Grammys in 2013.
Or when the pair hit up a Unicef Ball in 2012. Which brings us to the biggest question of the day: Where is Allison's right arm in this picture?
