Grace Coddington Hopes Her Cat-Shaped Perfume Bottle Is More 'Refined' Than Katy Perry's

The "Vogue" doyenne has also launched an adorable animated website for her new namesake fragrance.

With Grace Coddington's Grace by Grace Coddington fragrance due out April 19 (exclusively at Dover Street Market), the time has come for Vogue's longtime creative director to begin hyping the rose-scented perfume in earnest. (Never did this writer think she'd use both "Grace Coddington" and "hyping" in the same sentence, but here we are.)

Early Thursday morning, Coddinton took to Instagram to announce that she had launched a website for the scent, which has been cooked up in collaboration with Comme des Garçons. "I've launched a website!!!! I'm not sure how it works!!!! But please come visit anyway," she captioned on the adorable video in her feed, which also takes a prominent place on the landing page of In the drawing done by animator Jonathan Eden, posted above, we see Coddington, nude save for a pair of hoop earrings, spritzing herself with the fragrance. And with a jazzy piano tune serving as its soundtrack, the illustration brings Grace by Grace Coddington to life in what might be the most on-brand way possible.

In a corresponding interview with The New York Times's Matthew Schneier, published on Wednesday, Coddington further discusses her well-documented love of cats, particularly Persians. She's so fond of them, in fact, that her perfume's bottle takes the form of one. But Coddington isn't the only celebrity to have launched a feline-shaped scent; Katy Perry's "Purr Eau De Parfum Spray," for one, launched in 2010. This, it seems, distressed Coddington:

"That really upset me," Ms. Coddington said, though the two bottles strike different tones. Ms. Perry's is "a sexy cat and very glitzy. I think this is … I hope it's kind of refined."
