Update 4/1: APRIL FOOLS
As you at home might be aware, we at Fashionista have, for months, aggressively campaigned for Gucci to draw up a formal contract with human heart emoji Harry Styles. We've written elaborate proposals (twice, actually), built up a hashtag on Twitter and even hired a plane to spell out "#HarryforGucci" above Gucci's Florence, Italy headquarters. (Just kidding on that last part, but at this point, I wouldn't put it past us.) Well, folks, it looks like all our manic efforts were not in vain: According to a well-placed source, Styles and Gucci's Creative Director Alessandro Michele are in talks to collaborate on a line of shirts for Gucci's menswear category.
Holy shit, right?!?
The range, reportedly set to roll out for spring 2017, will surely be filled with the sharp, eccentric patterns and embellishments that have defined the One Direction crooner's wardrobe of late. At this stage, it's unclear whether Styles and Michele will incorporate any vintage-tinged jackets or trousers into the collection — and, honestly, we're okay with that. We're just happy to hear that our prayers to the powers that be — i.e., @lallo25 — have been heard (if the rumor is to be believed, of course).
As always, we'll keep you posted should we catch wind of any finalized details — but in the meantime, you can read more about Styles's Gucci moment here.
