I'm not one to regularly wear my hair up unless I'm working out and/or have plans to wash my hair and style it into something that looks like I didn't wash my hair. The reason being when I tie it into a ponytail or bun with an elastic, my strands will easily bend and twist and stay that way, leaving a big dent in my shoulder-length tresses. Not a good look.
But when my two friends introduced me to their new favorite hair tie, I was curious as to why they were raving about a product that looked like a miniature phone cord. Said phone cord is known as Invisibobble, a "traceless hair ring" whose spiral shape prevents dents in your hair no matter how long you wear it up. After grabbing a tiny box of three Invisibobbles from Sephora, I put one to the test. I wore my newly washed hair into a messy bun from the time that I got home until the time that I went to bed for about four hours: No dents. The other night, I accidentally fell asleep with an Invisibobble tied up into a high-and-tight ponytail. I woke up, ran to the bathroom, ripped the hair ring out and, voilà, no dents. I'm sold.
Invisibobble The Traceless Hair Ring, $8, available at Sephora.com.
