I've been on a slightly panicked shopping tear lately, because over the next five months, I have a whole bunch of weddings to attend. Thankfully, none of them are formal, but because of their varied locations — one's in a backyard, one's on the beach, one's in a Charleston mansion — I need something extra versatile, and that I can style according to each event's weather conditions and general vibe.
While browsing Aritzia over the weekend, I came across this airy crinkled dress (I picked up the black version) and knew I'd hit the jackpot. It's incredibly flattering thanks to the nipped-in waist, allowing the top to balloon over ever so slightly for a voluminous effect. Thanks to the lightweight material, I won't be dying on the dance floor if the humidity levels wind up on the high end of the spectrum, and the asymmetrical hem — perfect for showing off shoes — will allow me to have fun with my footwear each time I put it on.
Once wedding season's over, I doubt I'll banish this to the back of my closet: With a leather jacket, a berry lip and some tights, it will easily transition into fall.
Wilfred Bellecour dress, $225, available at Aritzia.
