HL Group, a fast-growing, dynamic bi-coastal Communications, PR, and Marketing Consulting firm seeks a Director to work on a team providing VIP Services in its Los Angeles office. The agency specializes in marketing and communications strategies across fashion, lifestyle, travel, beauty, design, and entertainment sectors and is quickly expanding into other categories.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop compelling communication strategies to align fashion and lifestyle entities with celebrities and influencers
  • Leverage personal and agency networks to create meaningful, innovative influencer programming
  • Generate top-tier opportunities for clients to engage with brand targets (inclusive of brand ambassadorships, event attendance, social media campaigns, etc.) via both paid and earned engagements
  • Shape and negotiate paid engagements when appropriate
  • Engage stylists and gatekeepers to consider clients for celebrity placement opportunities and garner constructive feedback on collections and brands
  • Interface with clients daily as relevant to celebrity opportunities, the competitive landscape, industry news
  • Support new business development through participation in meetings with prospective clients relevant to account team’s specialty
  • Provide support at agency events and attend industry events for the purposes of networking
  • Contribute creative thinking to VIP team conversations as well as office-wide brainstorms
  • Report to Vice President and interact with firm’s senior executives regularly to solicit and provide brand and industry-specific expertise, providing regular updates on clients’ status

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum seven years experience on either the agency or client side, working in fashion and/or entertainment (a plus if with talent)
  • Proven relationships with celebrity stylists, entertainment industry executives and social influencers
  • Experience pitching media and placing pieces on both a national and regional level
  • Keen understanding of brand nuances, competitive positioning, and big/small industry picture
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking and verbal and written communications skills; Ability to lead client meetings a must
  • Capacity to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Knack for problem-solving and a “get it done” attitude
  • Strong ability to manage a team inclusive of all levels of seniority, from account coordinators to senior executives
  • Experience in new business development and client acquisition preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of top social media platforms, Fashion GPS and Cision
