The "Manus x Machina" Met Gala has turned out to be an evening chock full of romantic moments, from Kate Upton's engagement announcement to Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik's first red carpet outing as a couple. Not to be outdone, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom took the Met red carpet as an opportunity to sort-of confirm their own relationship in a very special way. While Zigi walked the red carpet arm-in-arm wearing on-theme, vaguely robotic outfits, Perry and Bloom walked up the Met steps separately, but they both wore Prada outfits accessorized with Tamagotchis — as in the handheld digital pets that likely consumed your life in the late '90s/early aughts.
As you can watch below, they also both made sure to publicize the fact that they were wearing said Tamagotchis when asked questions by reporters. As Perry put it, "That's my tech contribution."
We hear the Met Gala is a pretty long ordeal, so if Perry or Bloom gets tired of talking to each other or the other famouses seated at the Prada table — Miuccia, Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Mia Goth and Ansel Elgort to name a few — at least they'll be able to occupy their time trying to fill up their pets' hungry meters.
