While we at Fashionista have been pretty loud about our desire to see one Harry Styles in a Gucci campaign — we want it so bad we essentially wrote fan fiction about them collaborating — I'm starting to sing a different tune. Did you see 2 Chainz at Sunday night's BET Awards in the buzzy brand's shearling-lined, patch-covered denim jacket? It's by no means the first time 2 Chainz has worn Alessandro Michele's designs, and it turns out the designer's love of ornate maximalism aligns perfectly with the musician's own preference for bold looks. As one accustomed to taking risks with fashion, 2 Chainz wears the pieces with a kind of casual aplomb that I wish could be bottled and sold.
Here's 2 Chainz posing with a social media influencer, showing off not only the floral jacket, but also his many rings and bracelets. You know who else loves tons of rings and bracelets? Yeah, you do.
Here's 2 Chainz with gospel music legend Kirk Franklin, giving us a peek of his Gucci-on-Gucci layering: underneath that cozy jacket is a red- and green-striped polo. It's an excellent combination that we have a feeling Michele would approve of. As if this wasn't enough of a feast for the eyes, the rapper changed into a gingham embroidered Gucci sweater and distressed denim for his performance at the awards show.
Move over Jared Leto — I want to see 2 Chainz front row at every Gucci show and taking selfies with Lallo forever. Someone at Gucci, please give this man the Snapchat password!
