The Spanish island of Ibiza, located 93 miles off the eastern coast of Valencia, is known for its wild nightlife and its beaches, and has become a hotspot for fashion celebrities: Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci celebrated his 40th birthday, replete with Kardashians, there in 2014; Stella McCartney has opened a pop-up shop over the past two summers; it was even the location of a well-publicized spat between Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber over former Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr. If you follow a fair number of models and other fashion folk on Instagram, you've no doubt already seen a few dozen Ibiza posts in your feed this year.

While the coastline and clubs are enough to entertain vacationers for a week or more, the island's main center, Ibiza Town, is worth a visit for its shops, as well as its restaurants and harbor views. From wallet-friendly gift stores to meticulously curated boutiques, we rounded up our favorite retail destinations below. (And once you've worked up a shopping-induced appetite, be sure to stop by Can Miquelitus or La Bodega for some of wine and tapas.)

Campos de Ibiza, a fragrance brand founded on the island in the late '70s, has several outposts on the island. This one, situated just off the main harbor and cheerfully decorated, realizes our idea of the perfect gift shop: Its shelves are full of simple and affordably priced scented candles, starting at €9 (about $10 USD), as well as perfumes, scented lotions, woven beach totes (€35), colorful beaded bracelets (€70), summer-weight scarves, swimsuits and beach coverups. We were particularly taken with a printed linen pantsuit (€90) and a gold-trimmed and tassled white caftan (€180), and left with a handful of jasmine candles, neatly wrapped.

This gem of a boutique carries a tightly edited selection of brands large and small: We found pieces, gently discounted, from Carven's nautical spring '16 collection, as well as cheeky embroidered sweatshirts from Maison Labiche (€100), delicate minimalist jewelry from Charlotte Lebeck, foamy leather sneakers from Norweigan footwear brand Avvikk, sunglasses from Illesteva and canvas bags from Herschel. While most of the clothes are designed for women, there is a small selection of men's ready-to-wear and accessories as well.

If you're on the hunt for clothes for your Ibiza vacation — but that you'll still want to wear when you return home — stop by B.ones: In sharp contrast to the brightly printed, cheaply made clothes offered at most other shops, this boutique stocks easy, neutral, well-made pieces from brands like Free People, Anine Bing and Filippa K. We were taken with a pair of light cotton tops decorated with pom-poms (€150-€169), which would easily dress up a pair of jeans or denim shorts, and a multi-print floral maxi dress from Ba&sh. In addition to daywear, the boutique offers a nice selection of understated yoga ensembles, minimalist jewelry, sunglasses, swimsuits and evening dresses.

Victoria Deny Ibiza
Carrer Del Bisbe Cardona 7

Though based in Milan, jewelry designer Victoria Deny decided to set up her flagship store in the heart of Ibiza. Small but well-trafficked, the shop displays a selection of Deny's earthy, matte-finished wares: You'll find bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces rendered in 24k gold vermeil, sterling silver and rhodium-plated silver, some colored with hand-cut semi-precious stones, brown diamonds or bright enamel. Prices start at €110 for a simple silver sterling ring to €1,440 for a pair of leaf-shaped, diamond-encrusted gold pendant earrings.

The sight of a silk-striped, Rosie Assouline-esque blouse drew us into this well-stocked dress shop in one of Ibiza's primary plazas — and we were so glad it did. The boutique is a treasure trove of feminine, moderately priced day and evening ensembles from hard-to-find European designers like Antoni & Alison (London), Grinko (Milan), Leitmotiv (Milan) and Zinzhan (Paris). If you're in the market for a dress no one else will have, this is your shop.
