It's been a whopping three weeks since I last endorsed a Sephora Collection beauty product, so it's time to renew my commitment to the multi-brand retailer's in-house line. The price point is always attractive, as is the packaging, and I've never regretted a purchase. The latest item I'm into is the Bright Future Color Corrector in a shade of mint green.
Green makeup is designed, as you may remember from your childhood art theory lessons, to cancel out facial redness. My face has been blotchy since puberty when I officially named the persistent redness between the sides of my nose and mouth the Bermuda Triangles. Much like the real thing, my Bermuda Triangles are loosely defined regions of the face in which concealer often proves useless, under mysterious circumstances. And yet, I have been trying to combat this redness with peachy cover-ups my entire adult life — some days more successfully than others.
Using green makeup always sounded like a nice idea in theory and not in practice, but I recently decided to test Sephora's version just for my own personal amusement. Indeed, the product is very green, and that greenness does not instantly melt away upon application. You can work it into the skin pretty well, but even then, there's a distinct visible tone. But after applying my normal fluid foundation, any ghoulish remnants are instantly erased — as are my Bermuda Triangles! It's lightweight, easy to build and comes with a soft flock applicator wand. I'm not yet sure how it will hold up on super-sweaty summer days, but for now I'm grateful to have found an easy, dependable way to balance my skin tone. Blotches begone.
