To say I'm excited for my first day at Fashionista is a major understatement. At the risk of sounding a tad Chandler Bing, I could not BE any more thrilled to start my new role here as beauty editor.
A little bit about me: I'm originally from Cleveland (Cavs, I still have faith in you!) and I spent my college years in the Midwest, too. But then I headed to NYC, and for the past four years, I've been immersed in all things beauty as a digital editor at Allure. My go-to "fun facts" include that I'm an identical twin, I've never eaten a hamburger in my life, and my mom is a graphic designer who created the iconic '90s LipSmackers logo. Beauty has sort of always been my thing: My first job in high school was as a salon receptionist, and I'd somehow always wind up doing a bunch of my friends' hair for prom. But it wasn't until college and my first beauty internship that it all really clicked. I'd just assumed it was totally normal to want to spend a solid 30 minutes in the shampoo aisle at Target. (Apparently it's not?) When I'm not being a human lab rat for hair, skin and makeup products, I spend my free time being fairly addicted to television (world's foremost Gilmore Girls scholar right here — test me on it!), pizza, and other cheese-related things.
Thanks for welcoming me to Fashionista!
