Swimsuitsforall Campaign Tackles the Thigh Gap, Is Real Hot
Right before we all unplug and sail off into the holiday weekend, Swimsuitsforall has released the kind of campaign that's worthy of a double or triple take. The self-proclaimed "leading online retailer for curvy swimwear" enlisted 15 models including Ashley Graham, Denise Bidot, Jordyn Woods (Kylie Jenner's model bf) and Iskra Lawrence to show off their butt and thighs in a series of pool and beach-side images.
Entitled “Don’t Mind the Gap," the campaign responds to social media's obsession with the space between the inner thighs — just a symptom of society's dangerous fixation with a very narrow view of "bikini bodies." No campaign is complete without a call-to-action hashtag, of course, and Swimsuitsforall is asking women to proudly share images of their bodies tagged with #MySwimBody, a movement it kicked off last month. "The goal is to have 10,000 women in a swimsuit proudly showing off their curves and celebrating their unique swim bodies," said the brand in a statement.
