We're rounding the corner into August, which means it's prime time for September cover releases. We've already gotten early glimpses at quite a few — including Harper's Bazaar and Elle UK — but the rest of your favorite glossy fashion mags will be revealing their ever-important covers in the coming weeks. The pressure is on, perhaps more than any other time of year, to deliver a major star in a fresh way that will get the audience talking and buying from newsstands.
On Saturday, British Vogue dropped its own September cover featuring none other than Cara Delevingne, model-turned-actress who is currently out promoting her latest film, "Suicide Squad." If Delevingne is, indeed, wearing Balenciaga (we've reached out for confirmation and will update accordingly), it marks Demna Gvasalia's biggest cover credit for the house so far. His distinctive pieces have appeared on the covers of T, i-D and Tank.
The cover also marks Delevingne's fifth appearance since her first for March 2013. The following year she fronted the January and September issues, and in April 2015, shared the glossy prime real estate with Suki Waterhouse and Georgia May Jagger. If Delevingne, 23, keeps this pace up, she's on track to approach Kate Moss's impressive record of 37 British Vogue covers.
As she continues to promote "Suicide Squad," we have a feeling Delevingne has a few more covers up her sleeve this September, but it certainly begs the biggest cover questions of all: Who will front American Vogue?
The September 2016 issue of British Vogue hits newsstands August 4.
